Let me tell you something about our culture, but I'll say it in spanish. "Un barranquillero siempre está para las que sea". Which translates "a person from barranquilla is ready for everything". And thanks to this part of our conception of the life, we have many places to discover. If you want to visit Barranquilla you must go to "LA TROJA". This place is absolutely colorful, friendly and loud. Here you will have the opportunity to listen the music that define us, salsa. Salsa is the emblematic rhythm that almost everyone knows how to dance. Is a part of our essence. On the other hand, if you come from a different place, you'll be treat as familiar and, trust me, everyone would like to teach you dance or dance with you. That's also been a barranquillero, a person that is always ready to help.

What about our carnival?

If i'm sure about something is that you've heard about our carnival. The real question must be: who does not? Nowadays we are the second best carnival in the world. Well, now let me tell you something about this huge festival. The carnival is the center of the attention of all Colombia during four days. Starting from "sábado de carnaval" until "la muerte de joselito". During this four days Barranquilla has many colors, activities, concerts and many events to enjoy. However, the real magic of the carnival is what happens during this days. While it is carnival the rich, the poor, the homeless, the old ones, the kids, everybody is going to be in the streets, dancing and eating during this four days. Also you are going to have the pleasure to listen different kind of music like salsa, africano, champeta, merengue and vallenato. During this four days the people will be happy and what's most important you are going to be pleased, because you're going to see and smile in every single face. And i can bet you that this happiness will infect you until the bones.

Something about our food.

When a foreigner listen about Barranquilla starts to think about food, music, carnival and beautiful women. In fact that is not a lie. Here in Barranquilla we have a really big varieties of food. For example, as you see in the picture, we have a special one called "mojarra frita". This delicacy is conformed for a fish called "mojarra", that has an excellent flavor, "patacones", double fried banana, and coconut rice. But it is not all the typical food that you can find here. If you come to Barranquilla you will see a lot of "fritos", juices, "butifarras", "arepa de huevo", "empanada", "pescao´cabrito", "chicharrones" and many dishes that you want to try too. So, as a recommendation, when you come to our country it would be great to not eat during the fly, then you can enjoy all our typical food.
